Today

a place in vermont is a private, four-hundred-acre property in Woodstock and home to generations of a family who are custodians of the natural habitats for wildlife, plant life, and ecosystems.

The mile-long, horseshoe-shaped valley is diverse, consisting of gentle and steep slopes, hilltop ridges, mixed woodlands, coniferous forests, wildflower meadows, old orchards, brooks, vernal pools, wetlands, and ponds.

Miles of trails throughout the property are maintained to explore the land. Hiking, trail running, and backcountry skiing are among the vigorous, healthful activities, while berry picking, foraging wild food, and star gazing provide a gentle balance.

On the property is also where Glenn Suokko’s painting studio is located, the space where he creates artwork inspired by this distinctive place in Vermont.
