May

When May arrives, everything changes. The monochromatic landscape of a former white/blue winter and brown/gray early spring, quickly transitions to thousands of shades of green. Outdoors, the volume is turned up as untold numbers of birds return to make themselves known, eager to find a mate and the perfect spot to build a nest. It is the time when we begin to create walking trails through the meadows, plant gardens, and spend more time and more meals outside. The sun sets later and later, and farther north each day, making the day as long or longer than those long-forgotten winter nights. In just a few short weeks, the natural world bursts forth with new growth, color, and eagerness.
